How to get a Polish phone number

Many Polish sites such as OLX require a Polish number ( 48) when signing up, and some Polish websites won't accept a foreign number at all. Getting one normally requires a PESEL, a Polish national ID number, which non-residents don't have. With SMSPool you can get a real non-VoIP Polish phone number without handing over sensitive information.

What Do People Use Polish Numbers For?

Polish platforms ask for a phone number to verify accounts, cut down on spam and fake signups, and in some cases to check you're based in Poland. There's also a large Polish immigrant community across the UK, Germany and beyond who want to keep using Polish services from abroad.

OLX Poland

OLX is Poland's biggest classifieds site, where Poles buy and sell everything from furniture and bikes to electronics and cars. Prices are often far below what you'd pay through an exporter.

Registering requires a Polish phone number, and this is the one people get stuck on. A foreign number is rejected at signup, so a UK, US or other EU number won't get you through. Once you're verified you can browse listings, message sellers and arrange a forwarding service to get items shipped abroad.

We would suggest using an IP address that matches the phone number's country. For example, if you use a Polish number, use a Polish IP address, preferably a residential one.

Vinted Poland

Vinted doesn't require a Polish number to sign up, but plenty of people still use one. The Polish catalogue has brands and listings you won't see on the UK version, and sellers ship within Poland, so a Polish account paired with a forwarding address unlocks items that are otherwise hard to reach from abroad. A separate number also keeps your personal one off the account.

Why Do Polish Sites Want a Polish Phone Number?

Poland is in the EU, so a lot of Polish sites will technically accept a number from another EU country. However, some Polish sites have SMS systems built for Polish mobiles, so delivery to a foreign number can be less reliable, or just silently fail. You request a code and nothing arrives, with no error telling you why.

Some platforms only accept a Polish 48 number at signup, and OLX is the one people hit most often. It's a common complaint from anyone trying to buy from Poland while living abroad.

VoIP numbers are a separate problem. Most Polish services block them, so anything that looks like an internet number from a service like TextNow will get rejected at the verification step.

Why Is It Hard To Get a Polish SIM Card?

Getting a real Polish number as a non-resident is harder than you'd expect.

Polish carrier SIMs from Play, Orange, T-Mobile or Plus require PESEL registration, Poland's national ID number, which non-residents don't have. That rules out most people who don't live there, and postpaid contracts also need a Polish address and bank account.

Travel eSIMs are what most people try next, and it's where they get caught out. Many are data-only, so you get internet but no Polish number that can actually receive an SMS.

SMSPool skips all of this. You get a real, non-VoIP Polish number from a real mobile carrier, wherever you are in the world.

How to Get a Polish Phone Number on SMSPool

Our numbers use real SIM cards, also known as non-VoIP, which is exactly what Polish services want. Here is how to get one in a few minutes:

Step 1: Create an SMSPool account. Go to SMSPool.net. Registration is fast and does not even require an email address if you would rather not use one.

Step 2: Add funds to your balance. Go to the Deposit page and add credit using card or crypto. Polish verifications are low cost, so we would suggest adding $3 to get started.

Step 3: Order a Polish number. Go to the Order page, select Poland as the country, then search for the website, service or app you want to register on in the Service menu. If it isn't listed, use the "Not Listed" service. If you want to test it first without spending anything, the free SMS page lets you do that.

Step 4: Complete the purchase. Click the Quick Purchase button. SMSPool will generate a real, non-VoIP number for you within seconds.

Step 5: Verify your account. Enter the number on the site's signup screen and request the code. When it arrives in your SMSPool dashboard, copy it and enter it on the site before it expires.

What If I Need to Verify Again Later?

Polish numbers from SMSPool are temporary and meant for a single SMS verification. We however do support resending codes on our Polish numbers provided that the phone number is still in our system. Polish numbers typically last between 20 minutes and 24 hours maximum. Please note that resends are never guaranteed.

For one-time signups that's fine. Verify once, your account's created, and you won't need the number again. But if a service is likely to text you again for logins, password resets or security checks, be aware you won't always be able to receive those on a used temporary number.
